Shortlisted and Feeling It

Today, I received the good news that the good folks at Necrotic Tissue enjoyed my story, "Chums," enough to put it on their shortlist.

While I've had abysmal luck so far with shortlists during my brief career, I can't help but to take a moment and smile. And hope.

In other news, my imagination seems to be thawing out with the weather. These three weeks or so of dark, blizzardy conditions put a heckuva damper on my will to be creative. Now that the sun is shining (even though it's still cold) I'm finding a renewed desire to get back to work--making my fingers do what one of my good friends calls "the ticky tap dance" on the keyboard. I'm feeling it, in other words. Let's just see what I can do with the rest of January.

Tally ho.

  2. Thanks, Aaron. And you're absolutely right about that shortlist madness. The good news is that I have some things coming up over the next few weeks that will distract me.

  3. Heh, I think I actually posted a forum thread regarding the short list curse at some point. I'm in the same boat right now for a different anthology. Good luck to ya!
