First. Pro. Sale.

Today, I received the good news that "Chums" was accepted over at Necrotic Tissue.

The story also holds the honor of being the July Editor's Pick, which earns pro pay. I know that the drive to create fiction is supposed to come from within--and it does--but this kind of news doesn't hurt one bit. I don't know if I'm like other writers in this feeling, but every time something like this comes along, I feel a little less crazy for wanting to try to make a go at my dreams. Everything feels a little more possible on days like today.

I'm a happy guy. And lucky, too.

  3. Cate--I hope you enjoy the tale when it comes out in July.

Aaron--almost as good as the first-ever acceptance. Not sure anything can top that feeling, but this is right up there.

We keep chasing that first high, though, don't we?
