Progress, Creatures and Fast Zombies

For the first time in quite a while, I'm writing new fiction. Two stories, now, in fact.

One of the stories has been percolating forever in my imagination. It's time to get that one down on paper...or the virtual stuff created in my word processing program. I think it'll be done by month's end. Who knows where that one will go.

The other one started out as a joke--just something I said to make my wife laugh. One of those "I'm going to write a story about XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX," conversations. Turns out that the premise had promise. If all goes well, I plan to submit that one to the newly announced Comet Press creatures anthology. I published my first anthology story with them, and they do some quality work, so whenever they announce a new project, I try to throw my hat in the ring.

In other news, I watched Zombieland the other day. Good entertainment. Woody steals the show. I was a little disappointed with the fact that the zombies were more akin to the Infected of 28 Days Later rather than actually being undead. Pretty much the same result as far as the zombies go (except they're fast and, it seems, a bit more "with it"), but I dunno. I like my zombies undead rather than just sick. Minor gripe against a pretty strong addition to the genre.
