Submitted a drabble to the folks over at Necrotic Tissue. This one's based on something I saw two years ago at a local diner that made me smile at first, and then cringe once I thought it through.
Since then, I've tried to write a full-length story about it, but I keep hitting the wall. I chopped what I had down to the barest essence and sent it in. It felt good.
It's called "Fair Shake." Regardless of how it does, I'm pleased that I finally brought some resolution to the story.
Good luck with it. I find finishing a story, especially stubborn ones, a very satisfying feeling.
