O.K., that post title was bad--but I'm running on empty today in terms of fresh ideas.
Just wanted to check in to say that I've completed proofing my section of NT issue 13. It was quite a bit of fun to reacquaint myself with those wonderful stories. Readers are in for a real treat this January.
It's the busiest time of year at the day job, too. The proof of the magazine I help to write/edit will be arriving on my desk any minute now. Hope to get that edited, out the door and to the printer by the end of the week. I'm excited for this one to come out, because it includes a special one-on-one interview I did back in September with Tom Brokaw.
On the home front, the wife and I are in the midst of packing for a move. We're scheduled to close on our first house mid-month. I'm sure I'll be grumbling about mowing the lawn come July, but for now, the thought that I'll have my own piece of the American Dream makes me want to do the Happy Dance. I've already picked out my mancave.
It's been a big year. Now, if only I could find some time to write a short story or two.
Good luck on your closing -- spending my first year in my own house as well, you'll love it . . . and hate it, all at the same time!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Martin. Looking forward to leaving the apartment lifestyle. Based on all their thumping around, I swear our upstairs neighbors A) have a lot of vigorous sex B)frequently do aerobics or C) are chopping up dead bodies for their demon masters.
